Course Overview
GCSE Graphic Communication will familiarise you with the theories of Graphic Design, their applications and the visual communication of ideas. You will learn to use and exploit the elements and principles of design along with developing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. You will discuss, collaborate, and make innovative and alluring designs and products.
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), plus Procreate for the iPad as well as traditional hands-on making methods such as drawing, printmaking, spray stencilling and paper cutting, will be utilised to explore your ideas in both digital and physical forms. You will become proficient in Adobe software through the creative development of teacher-led and self-interest projects as the course progresses.
Projects will range from skill- and task-based digital challenges to using different materials, tools and specialty equipment to physically output and make your ideas and designs a reality.
