Geography

Course Overview

We live in an increasingly globalised society where almost everything we do is linked to another part of the world; a world which is likely to change more in the next 50 years than it has ever done before.

Geography is perfectly placed to investigate these changes and the complex relationships that are developing between people and the environment. This makes the course interesting and relevant to many contemporary issues that impact the economy, society and the environment.

We offer field trips to gain experience of field-study skills and prepare for paper 4.

The course balances human and physical geography with the study of environmental themes.

An overseas fieldwork trip to Vietnam is planned for students in year 10. This is to help with skills tested in Paper 4. It is highly recommended, but not compulsory.
