Options support - University and Careers

The University and Careers Counselling Office supports the subject preferences process for the Year 8 students. Our best advice to students is to take the subjects that they consider are their strengths; the ones they enjoy the most; and the ones they consider reflect their interests across a broad range of subjects.

It is important to note that for university applications in the USA, Canada, mainland Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong and some other countries, (not the UK or Australia), a transcript is sent which shows every report grade (WT) for every subject from Year 10 onwards, therefore taking subjects which students can be continuously successful in is important. 

We have developed a short unit of work that enables the students to explore their strengths, areas of interest and personality type, along with a reflection of their results which enable them to examine the suggested IGCSE preferences.
