English Language Learners Pathway  - Course Overview 

Placement on the ELL Pathway

The ELL Pathway is specifically designed to enhance the progress of students for whom English is an additional language. The ELL pathway covers the same IGCSE material as the FLL IGCSE Literature and Language classes however, classes are smaller in size, have more specialist EAL support and aim enhance students' proficiency and understanding of English language and literature. 

Decisions about whether students are placed in English Language Learners classes or First Language and Literature classes are made using a combination of factors including admissions data and information, teacher evaluation, baseline assessments, and/or WIDA testing.
