On Wednesday 8 March our Year 9 and 10 students got a clear insight into what it's like to grow up under surveillance in a post 9/11 world in America and what it means to truly belonging to a community? Known for her sensitively-rendered, coming-of-age novels, Watched, Tell Us We’re Home, and Ask Me No Questions, Marina Budhos zeroed in on diverse immigrant experiences from the perspective of young people. In her talk, she discussed racial profiling and the challenges an immigrant teenager faces.
