Reading Ambassadors

The SS Reading Ambassadors are a group of enthusiastic readers who have volunteered to work in the library in their spare time to assist with the running and promotion of our wonderful resource.

Their job entails being a part of a team who work together to issue and return books, help students with using the library and finding what they need, shelving books, tidying the library as well as promoting the library and reading.

We think all our volunteer Reading Ambassadors are wonderful because they are reliable, caring, friendly, hard-working, love books and reading, like helping people, good at communicating and listening, good at alphabetical and numerical order as well as the ability to work without supervision.

Thank you for all the time and effort you give to help support reading and the Library in your free time

We now have a group of enthusiastic readers who have volunteered to work in the library in their spare time to assist with the running and promotion of this wonderful resource.

The job entails being a part of a team who work together to issue and return books, help students with using the library and finding what they need, shelving books, tidying the library as well as promoting the the library and reading.

The qualities that a good reading ambassador needs include being reliable, careful, friendly, hard-working, love books and reading, like helping people, good at communicating and listening, good at alphabetical and numerical order as well as the ability to work without supervision.

Clearly our students will benefit from the help these ambassadors provide for the library and in their promotion of reading but the ambassadors themselves will also gain from the work they undertake this year. These benefits include work experience, new skills, librarian training and certificates, chance to take on responsibility, preview of new books, appreciation from teachers and students as well as the satisfaction of doing a good job.

Congratulations to all the students who were successful in their application for this important role.
