Alice Clark-Platts
7 February 2017 - Year 10 learnt so much today from Alice Clark-Platts who shared so much of her insightful knowledge and understanding about the writing process.
After lunch Alice spoke to a group of very interested parents who appreciated the generous way she described what it's like to be an author and how she balanced the demands of this calling with her role as a mother of two of our DCI students.
Alice is a former human rights lawyer who has worked at the UN International Criminal Tribunal in connection with the Rwandan genocide and also on cases involving Winnie Mandela and the rapper Snoop Dog. A prize winning author who studied at Durham University and is a graduate of the Curtis Brown creative writing course, Alice certainly enriched the learning here at DCI today.
