Evelyn Bookless

Evelyn Bookless grew up on a lovely farm in the west of Ireland. She is a nature lover, mum, . Evelyn adored reading so she studied English She then had a career in IT before deciding to train as a primary school teacher. She loves to work with children and enjoys seeing the world through their eyes. Evelyn has taught in inner city London, as well as internationally, in Hong Kong and Singapore (where she currently resides).

Evelyn loves the water. Her first-time diving was at The Great Barrier Reef. It blew her mind (but thankfully she made a full recovery!). Saddened by the amount of plastic waste she has seen in the ocean, Evelyn wrote Captain Green and the Plastic Scene. She is passionate about raising awareness of environmental issues among children and she believes that children can make an enormous difference in their homes, schools communities due to their genuine concern for the world around them.

Write for Kindness Group Talk

The students in our Write for Kindness group were very fortunate yesterday afternoon to get the opportunity to work with Evelyn Bookless, one of our Dulwich teachers and author of her debut picture book 'Captain Green'.

Evelyn was able to provide the students with such useful tips to help them in their to write a picture book or illustrated poem of their own for the competition they are currently competing in.
