Dead Poets

They are coming to DCSG on 22-24th January. Dead Poets is the collective title for Mark Grist and MC Mixy who are performance poets who combine music and rap to students and adults.

Working with our Year 6 to 10s this week, The Dead Poets, Mark & Mixy, performance poets who combine, music and rap, have inspired our students to produce amazing, creative pieces of poetry, rap and music this week. Many of the students showcased their work in a cross-college assembly which topped off a fabulous three days with these outstanding DCI Diversity Programme speakers.

The Aftermath of Mark and Mixy

It's so wonderful when visiting speakers leave a lasting impact on the learning of our students. We are always endeavouring to choose people who do that. As the evidence below shows we certainly got it right with Mark & Mixy - The Dead Poets.

The photo below shows all the poems and raps which were voluntarily written by our Senior School students and submitted to Mark and Mixy for feedback. Such a joy to see the enthusiasm for writing our students exuded in response to the work they did by these two amazing people.
